"Gaku" (the kanji: 楽) means fun, joy, or comfort. And learning Japanese can be all three!
With Gaku, you can practice reading in an enjoyable, engaging way.
Our content is compatible with standard Japanese textbooks used worldwide. You can seamlessly integrate reading practice into your regular studies.
The learning experience is fully customizable to your needs.
You can choose from three lengths—Long for a challenge, Medium for efficiency, or Short for quick practice.
Reading support is flexible: toggle Furigana on or off to match your Kanji level, and listen to natural Japanese audio with adjustable playback speed.
We cover a wide range of levels from JLPT N5 to N1.

We named this site "Gaku" (楽) with the hope of making it "Gaku-shu" (楽しく学ぶ - fun learning).
We have packed it with everything you ever wanted in a reading resource for your lessons.
By providing reading materials tailored to each learner's level, students can practice and review while having fun, drawing out their ability to "read" and "understand."
And "Gaku" can also be read as "raku" (easy).
Every Japanese teacher has probably felt at some point that they don't have enough time to create materials or they wish they had resources they could use right away in class.
This site offers materials that can be used in lessons immediately with zero or minimal preparation.
We created it with the goal of making teaching easier and more enjoyable.
The textbook content for Japanese teachers will continue to be available for free for all levels.

About Me
Hello everyone, I’m Saya, and this is my fifth year as a Japanese language teacher. After gaining experience teaching at a Japanese language school, I now primarily teach Japanese online.
In my lessons, I value my students’ sense of achievement and satisfaction, and this website was created from that same belief.
I try to enjoy every aspect of my life — my work, raising my children, spending time with friends, my hobbies, and continuing my own learning. Of course, there are times when things do not go as planned, but I truly love this profession because it allows me to meet and connect with people from all over the world.
