About Gaku & Learning Materials

1. Who creates the learning materials?

All learning materials are created by a qualified Japanese teacher with professional training and teaching experience. The materials are carefully designed based on common challenges learners face, effective learning methods, and real classroom experience. They also include content that has been used in actual lessons and fun materials that learners have enjoyed.

2. What level of learners is this website for?

Gaku is designed for learners from beginner to advanced levels who want to improve their Japanese skills. In terms of JLPT levels, it is especially recommended for learners from N5 to N3, but we also provide reading materials and learning content for N2 and N1 learners.

3. What makes Gaku different from other Japanese learning websites?

Gaku is an all-in-one Japanese learning platform created from the experience of both a Japanese teacher and Japanese learners. It combines various learning tools, including reading materials, flashcards, quizzes, and practice activities, allowing you to study Japanese from different perspectives. We also incorporate Japanese culture and atmosphere into our design and content to create a learning environment that you will want to visit every day. Our goal is to help you improve your Japanese in a fun, effective, and sustainable way.

4. Is audio available?

Yes. Audio is available for all Textbooks lessons. Free members can listen to some audio samples, and Premium members can access all available audio content. The audio uses natural Japanese pronunciation, and playback speed can also be adjusted.

5. Will new content be added in the future?

Yes. We will continue adding new reading materials and learning content. We will gradually expand the website so that annual plan members can enjoy new content throughout their one-year membership.

6. Is there a free version?

7. Can I use Gaku for self-study?

Yes. You can study anytime and anywhere at your own pace. Gaku can be used both as a supplement for reviewing lessons and as support for independent self-study.

8. Does Gaku use Minna no Nihongo?

Gaku’s textbooks are created based on the grammar and vocabulary progression of Minna no Nihongo. Each lesson follows the progression of Minna no Nihongo, making Gaku useful as a supplementary learning resource for students using the textbook. We have also confirmed the use of the materials with 3A Corporation, the publisher of Minna no Nihongo.
