うなぎパン

みなさんは、うなぎを食たべたことがありますか？

Have you ever eaten eel?

日本にほんには、「土用どようの丑うしの日ひ」という日ひがあります。

In Japan, there is a day called “Doyō no Ushi no Hi.”

この日ひには、うなぎを食たべる人ひとが多おおいです。

On this day, many people eat eel.

でも、うなぎは高たかいです……。

But eel is expensive…

そこで、うなぎパンを食たべました🤣

So, I ate an eel-shaped bread instead.

In 「土用の丑の日」, 「土用」 is read 「どよう」 and 「丑」 is read 「うし」. Read the full phrase as 「どようのうしのひ」.

「〜たことがありますか」 asks whether someone has ever had a particular experience. 「食べたことがありますか」 means “Have you ever eaten it?”

「そこで」 introduces an action taken because of the situation just explained: eel was expensive, so the writer chose eel-shaped bread.
